Here are your Evo 2024 predictions from SNK vs. Capcom and Terry Bogard to the resurrection of Heihachi Mishima and much more.

There is nothing

This was an important weekend for the fighting game community at Evo 2024 with many records broken for the entrants of the individual tournaments and for being the biggest event ever. -eSports has been around for a long time even though it has been more than competitive.

With another Evo officially in the books, we’re here to recap the announcements you may have missed over the past three days across the range.

Aside from the teaser PGW|Hayao added to Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, there were some new things on display for fans and some unexpected surprises.

Of course we had news from Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Guilty Gear Strive and many more which we will not get into.

Unfortunately we didn’t get anything for the Marvel vs Capcom Battle Collection as a release date, but the developers of Street Fighter 6 revealed that they really want to make a new crossover fighting game.

Let’s jump right in and check them all out in chronological order.

To kick things off before Friday, Bushiroad games finally revealed Meruem for Hunter x Hunter: Nen Impact in a new trailer, but that’s not all.

They have also revealed the starting line-up for the first movie which includes Kite, Genthru, Morel and Razor to include around 16 characters.

However, we are still waiting for that release date.

Also on Friday, Cygames officially revealed Versusia as the next DLC character for Granblue Versus and made it playable on the Evo deck for those coming.

It wasn’t all like that as they also released the Versusia trailer and release date as well as revealing Vikala as the final member of the year 1 additions.

Finally, Sandalphon was teased along with the confirmation of the second season of content that may start in 2025.

SNK seemed to be the best out of any developer this past week, and that certainly included Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.

Kevin Rian is the latest character to be revealed for the Garou sequel, and he wants to hit you really hard – though hopefully not. like as hard as he did in the first game.

In addition, SNK also revealed that the new Fatal Fury will be released on PlayStation 4 along with the previously announced PlayStation 5, Xbox and PC.

We knew that the King of Fighters 15 exclusive DLC characters would be revealed, and they turned out to be huge crowd pleasers.

Vice and Mature are set to return in December as the final fighters added to the game.

They didn’t really show more of their new designs, so we’ll need to wait a while to see their gameplay and get more details.

SNK also had the biggest surprise of the entire event by dropping the re-release of SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos launched in 2003.

The last crossover fighter of the companies now has “rollback netcode”, lobbies, gallery and other features.

SVC Chaos was released immediately for Steam, but is now also available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.

MultiVersus made a surprise announcement that they would have something special to show off the Evo shortly before the event, but unfortunately it wasn’t Scorpion.

Instead, we saw the reveal of Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice coming to MVS Season 2.

And Jack is coming up with a new update soon.

Although it was unfortunately leaked a bit earlier, Arc System Works has revealed their full DLC lineup for Season 4 of Guilty Gear Strive with some amazing surprises.

Fan favorites like Dizzy and Venom are finally set to return along with the new Unika from the upcoming Guilty Gear anime, but the most interesting choice of them all was Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

They’re also releasing a special open beta for Strive’s new 3v3 mode later this week.

So here comes Katsuhiro Harada who lied to us all when he told us that Heihachi Mishima was completely dead after the events of the last game.

Although he stayed in the main story of Tekken 8, Heihachi is still alive and returns as the third DLC character after Lidia later this year.

It looks like he will be featured heavily in the upcoming Story Mode expansion.

Capcom didn’t have much to show at Evo this year compared to 2023, but that doesn’t mean they came up empty.

They’ve released the official trailer for Terry Bogard in Street Fighter 6, which lets us see the wild wolf in the RE Engine with his classic Fatal Fury look.

It gives fans a look at the introduction of Terry’s World Tour mode, but we’ll have to wait a while for the actual gameplay and details.

Although Uzuki was originally planned for an August release, French Bread has revealed Under Night In-Birth II’s first DLC character coming this week.

Diesel Legacy: Age of Brazen has revealed Damkina as a new playable character and introduced her at their Evo booth.

Rivals of Aether 2 has announced Orcane as a new fighter, and the developers have revealed all future players for the free-to-play game.

As crazy as this week has been, there’s a good chance Evo will have more to reveal that we ended up missing, so if we missed anything, let us know in the comments .

And tell us what your favorite part of Evo is this year too.
