The USA men’s basketball team had to do another part of the fourth quarter during the preparation of the Olympic Games when they passed Germany, 92-88.

After Saturday’s final victory against South Sudan, the USA was forced to fight again in the game – this time against a determined German team.

But some things don’t change, yet again it was LeBron James who made a late game to lead Team USA to its fifth win out of five during the USA Basketball Showcase.

In front of a sold-out O2 Arena in south-east London, the US got off to a flying start and looked set to improve on their performance in their previous game.

There were 19,177 fans who were there to see the biggest sports stars with many colors of jerseys from all over the world.

And the crowd did not wait long to get down from their seats.

Scoring the go-ahead was none other than ‘King James’ and he did so in style. On a fast break, the four-time MVP stood up to throw down a loud dunk to get the crowd going.

The highlight reel plays didn’t end there and moments later the crowd saw another James dunk. The Los Angeles Lakers big man hit a layup off Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday and the crowd rose to their feet again.

The US led 29-19 after the first quarter and the game looked to be going one way.

Germany tried to come back in the second half, but Team USA finished the quarter strong. The crowd went wild again when James firmly blocked Dennis Schröder’s layup before Steph Curry hit a three on the other end – an event basketball fans once thought they could only dream of.

James led the US in scoring with a career-high 20 points.

The young American kids on the block decided to join the party.

As time expired, new member of Team USA Joel Embiid made a big stop before former Olympian Anthony Edwards ran down the field. Ant-Man then flies off and hits home.

The four-time defending Olympic gold medalists went into the break with a 48-41 lead.

From half-time Germany looked determined not to let the game follow the same script as the first half, and a dramatic third quarter saw the Europeans take the lead.

The German fans also seemed to have recovered after the break and cheered every point, coming back to roar from the team in red – creating a cauldron-like atmosphere inside. he forgot.

Germany outscored the USA 30-20 in the third quarter and went into the fourth quarter leading 71-68.

But as he has done throughout his career, James stepped up in the clutch.

The NBA’s all-time leading scorer added 11 points in the fourth to lead his team to victory and extend the team’s unbeaten streak against Paris.

James scored a game-high 20 points to go along with six rebounds and four assists in another special performance from the Los Angeles Lakers star.

“A guy named LeBron James made some great plays in the end,” Germany head coach Gordon Herbert said when summarizing the result to reporters after the game.

While the US won, it was far from the performance of old, but James noted the team’s improvement that night.

“We were better tonight and that’s very important,” the Lakers star told reporters after the game. “We were tested by a big German team, they were world champions last year, so it was a good test for us.

“I’m happy that we were able to stay calm and determined like we did yesterday against South Sudan. It was a good win for us. ”

The USA will hope that these improvements will continue to come as they enter the Olympics in Paris.

The US’s first game will be against Serbia on July 28 before facing South Sudan and Puerto Rico in the remaining group games.

The US men’s team has won gold at the last four Olympics and will be looking to make it five in a row in Paris.
